The American giant Fannie Mae shoots 200, mainly Telugus, on salary fraud: report

According to reports, the American mortgage giant, Fannie Mae, has fired around 200 employees, most of them Telugus, for “ethical motifs.” In January, Apple fired around 50 employeesIncluding some Indians, at their headquarters in Cupertino for charges that they delivered to the monetary fraud to increase their compensation. An Indian-American congressman launched an investigation into the massive shots and requested an explanation of Fannie Mae.

The 200 Indian-American employees were employees of the National Federal Mortgage Association, commonly known as Fannie Mae, the largest American company in terms of assets. Fannie Mae dismissed 700 employees, including fraud, as part of her restructuring efforts. It is a company administered by the United States government.

The majority of the 200 employees dismissed by Fannie Mae for “ethical lands” are Telugus, according to a report by The Times of India.

The alleged ethical violations are linked to irregularities and misuse of the Fannie Mae’s game subsidies program.

This payment is an extension of employee salaries. It is compensation to what employees donate under the coincident gift program.

The employees now supposedly baffled with non -profit organizations, some linked to the Telugu community in the United States, and falsified donations to exploit the program and access the company’s funds.

The Indian-American congressman seeks Fannie Mae’s response

Several employees are accused of collauding with the Telugu Association of North America (Tana) to deceive companies and the misuse of funds, according to The Times of India Report.

According to the reports, one of the dismissed employees held the position of Regional Vice President in Tana, while another is the spouse of a former president of the American Association of Telugu (ATA).

The sources said that Tana is not the only organization involved and that other associations were also under investigation.

Some people who worked with Fannie Mae told Toi that the dismissals were made on April 9 and 10, and that they were in “ethical land.”

Andhra Pradesh and Telangana are the two states with most speaking people Telugu.

The Indian-American congressman his Subramanyam de Virginia said on April 9 that he had looked for a Fannie Mae response.

“It has caught my attention that Fannie Mae accused hundreds of my voters in the India-American community of fraudulent behavior and fired them without complete investigation or providing evidence,” said Subramanyam.

“I have spoken with many of these employees in our community, and they deserve due process. Fannie Mae owes them, the American congress and the people an immediate explanation,” added the congressman.

The Telugu Association faced similar positions in the case of Apple

In December 2024, the Court of the Northern District of California issued a citation to Tana, which demanded that the group testify before a grand jury. The citation demanded records of donations received, spent amounts and details of representatives of the Organization from 2019 to 2024.

Similar allegations arose Against Tech Company Apple employees earlier this year. According to reports, the company ended more than 100 employees, including around 50 at its Cupertino headquarters, after discovering a monetary fraud scheme designed to inflate employee compensation.

The authorities in the Bay area had issued orders against six of Apple employees dismissed, none of whom was Indian.

However, the reports indicated that several Indian employees were involved in the improper use of Telugu charity organizations in the United States for fraudulent activities.

According to reports, the scheme involved employees who intended to make donations, who were later returned to them. Apple’s corresponding contributions were retained, and fictitious donations were ruled out in the accused’s tax statements, disappointing the State of California in the process.

After Apple, the dismissal of 200 employees, mostly Telugus, on the scam indicates that manipulation is not restricted to a single American company and could be more widespread than it is believed. A fair probe will reveal the origins and its scope.
