After trailing by as many as 19 points, the Chicago Bulls came back to defeat the San Antonio Spurs 114-110, moving to 17-19 on the season.

Zach LaVine led the way for Chicago, scoring 35 points with 10 rebounds and 8 assists. The two-time NBA All-Star has scored 30+ in four of his last five appearances, proving all the skeptics wrong after a disappointing 2023-24 season.

Bulls guard Coby White also played a big role in the comeback, scoring 23 points, but his night was highlighted with a monster hit on Spurs superstar Victor Wembanyama to ice the game with 15 seconds left.

THE BULLS FREEZE THE VICTORY IN THIS EMPHATIC SLAM”

Getting a dunk on the 7-foot-3 French phenom is no easy task for anyone, especially the 6-foot-5 shooting guard from Chicago. White’s slam overshadowed an absurd night by Wembanyama, who scored 23 points, 14 rebounds and 8 blocks.

LaVine was jealous of White’s highlight reel after the win, and said they talked about wanting to try a dunk over Wembanyama.

“We had a joke like: Someone has to try (Wembanyama),” LaVine said. “I tried but it didn’t work. So I’m happy and a little envious because Coby has two dunks this year. One of them is at Wemby. So, congratulations.”

LaVine has had plenty of career dunk highlights and two NBA Dunk Contest titles to prove it, but it’s understandable to want to posterize the league’s best rim protector. White had a once-in-a-career opportunity to dunk at Wemby and he made the most of it.
